Old School Friday: And It's Over...

Back to the music at hand...

So this week's theme is Thank God It's Over.  The campaign smears, the fake promises and pretenses, the smug accusations and plain ol' bullshit is all over - and the better man won (come on, y'all knew I was going THERE!).

For my theme, I decided to use one song to dedicate to my super couple.  They have a long road ahead as President and First Lady and I know that the love that they have for each other will continue to be the cement that keeps everything together.  Not only do I dedicate this song to them, but the words also strangely enough signify how everyone came together on Tuesday.  People of every color were embracing, crying and were just simply ecstatic.  You felt it, you saw it - it was undeniable.  And not just here, but in every corner of the world.  If that is not Love Power, I don't know what is.

Like Luther said, "Love is something you should never hide..."

Have a good weekend y'all...

I loved that man.
Perfect choice and ending to a week closer to perfect than we'll probably see in a long time.

Rev: Awwww, shucks ***black woman blushing*** Thank you very much for the love.

Cooper: I guess this is as close to perfect we will get in truth (aside from January 20th). Let me tell ya, I love the feeling!

I loved watching President Elect talk late Tuesday night - but I swear my favorite part was the mention of the puppy, lol. Gotta love a man who honors his commitments and he promised his girls a puppy if he won - I love it!

Now I can't wait to see what they get - he mentioned one of his daughters has allergies to pet dander so I say here to President Elect Obama: Poodles and Yorkshire Terriers do not have fur they have hair and are therefore low on the dander chain - get a Yorkipoo! I think a Yorkipoo in the White House would rock and so does my Yorkipoo, Pixel!!!!

P.S. Pixel says she voted for him.

Diva: LOL...yeah I agree with you! And I am the same as his daughters in the allergy territory. My lil brother (back at my Mom's house) had to get a poodle cross, because I can't breathe with anything else! So Frizzy our little family doggie, is the cutest and I do think that a Yorkipooh would be FABO in the White House!...lol

Sorry, I had to take it there with Seal and Maxwell. Deep down, you know I am right, lol.

But, OBAMA!-QH

qh: Well Seal doesn't really matter to me, he's alright. But MAXWELL? Nahh, I am still sad, but I forgive you...lol :)

And you said Obama in caps with an exclamation mark, so you are redeemed...lol

How beautiful!
I swear I have a love like theirs. I get scared because I can't believe it's real myself. Then I just praise God! I believe in soul mates, and finding your soul mate in life is worth the time and journey, no matter what!

Anyway, I love Luther, and I miss him. My favorite Luther song is Love So Amazing.

MrsGrapevine: You my dear, are truly blessed in so many ways. Love like that is extremely hard to find in this day and age where marriage and commitment are scarce. Praise him indeed! I couldn't agree with you more. :)

And believe it or not, that's my favorite Luther track too. He wrote that song for his niece for her wedding I believe. So beautiful.

Love your choice! Love Luther (miss him terribly!). My favorite Luther track is Superstar...it haunts me, but in a good way...
